Little White Church in Cades Cove- Great Smoky Mountains

There’s defiantly an old gem deep inside the Great Smoky Mountains right in the heart of Cades Cove. Anytime I am going through the cove I always have to stop and photograph this amazing little white church that dates back to the late 1820s. Cades Cove is located near Townsend, TN in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and it is a beautiful valley (like you have never seen before) that you can drive through, one way. Cades Cove is an 11 mile loop. Settlers first arrived in Cades Cove in the early 1820s. There is a lot of history there and many historical places to photograph as well as visit. I believe Cades Cove has almost 2 million visitors a year and is one of the most popular destinations in the Smoky Mountains, so that means all us photographers better get out to the Cove early in the morning! 🙂

If you are going to photograph the cove, I do recommend going right at sunrise or before so you are the first to enter into the cove. There is beautiful lighting and fog that hits the cove and makes it so beautiful to photograph only in the morning. The fog slips through the trees and path, which makes a wonderful photo and is the most iconic. Many deers run through the valley and give you an easy view to photograph them. Of course there are bears too and much more wildlife!

Sunday Praise!

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone had a blessed weekend! Today’s message features a photo shot in the Great Smoky Mountains overlooking Foothills Parkway. as you can see it was a very smoky morning. The sunrise rose and the beautiful light peaked out of the fog.

Sing!

Happy Monday! Here is a throwback picture from my trip to the Music City last year, Nashville, Tennessee. What I love most about Nashville, Tennessee is the Americana vibe that it carries! I love using HDR and the HDR effect on almost everything I shoot in Nashville! Nashville has some really cool rustic things to shoot that are perfect for those HDR images. Places like Marathon Motor Works or the Parthenon are awesome locations for photographers to test out their creativity when it comes to HDR photography. This photo made me think of this bible verse, Ephesians 5:19. I love to worship to all the music on The Message, I think its FM Channel 63. My favorite is For King and Country, Britt Nicole, NewsBoys, Ryan Stevenson,Toby Mac, and Mercy Me. Who is your favorite Christian Artist to Worship with?

Little St. Augustine Chapel

Happy Sunday! I was recently in St. Augustine this past week for a photography birding fest and got to shoot at varies locations in the area. However, this little chapel was my most favorite place I visited. It is called the Our Lady of La Leche at the Mission. This little chapel was first built in 1677 and it was reconstructed twice, but most recently in 1910 after a hurricane came through that area. The chapel is over a 100 years old! It is a little chapel dedicated to praying. Little benches roll across the floor of the small chapel and you can light a candle. There is a statue of Mary and baby Jesus on display at the back of the chapel that glows under the lights. It is a wonderful peaceful place for prayer that is filled with the Holy Spirit.
