A female Greater Kudu at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. I only had about 2 seconds to snap this shot. She had her head down eating at the grass and as soon as I turned my back she put her head up and looked right at me. I saw her from the corner of my eyes raise and shot about 5 shots of her imminently. She is so beautiful! Greater Kudu’s are antelopes, found in South and Eastern Africa. Males have twisted horns on their heads and while females just have their big ears. In Africa this species is declining from poaching and the lost of their habitats.
