I had the opportunity to photograph Ricky Skaggs, a 14 time Grammy award winning artist! Skaggs is called the father of bluegrass music because of how talented Ricky is and he really brought back the bluegrass style of music. Ricky started playing the mandolin at the age of 5 and by the time he was 6 years old he was onstage performing with Bill Monroe singing and playing the mandolin. Skaggs has had so many hit songs and performs with his band, Kentucky Thunder all across America and all over the world. He currently has a new album out with his wife, Sharon White titled “Hearts Like Ours.”
It was a true blessing to not only photograph such a talented musician, but to get to know Mr. Skaggs and talk with him. Ricky Skaggs is also a very talented photographer and when he is on tour he brings his camera with him. I photographed Ricky Skaggs holding his guitar in Nashville, Tennessee.
